Scorpion - Buthus occitanus or Buthus ibericusWhilst out weeding in the veggie garden recently I came across this scorpion. Its not deadly but can give a very nasty painful sting. It did sting me, but luckily I had gardening gloves on which made sure I did not get the full sting. Â The general rule with scorpions is the bigger their pincers the less venomous their sting as they rely on their strength rather than the sting to get their prey. As you can see this one is of the small pincer big venomous tail type. |
