It has rained every day since 16th December, trips out have been a little on the thin side, but on our one dry day we took advantage and headed out. Whilst travelling between Pinos de Valle and Los Guajares to get a photo of Lanjaron with the snowy peaks of Cerro de Caballo, Tajos Alta and Cerrillo Redondo towering above, a Golden Eagle, (Aguila chrysaetos) Aguila Real, came soaring over our heads and stayed with us for 5 minutes or more. This area, I think, has potential to be a great area for birdwatching, but without our birding man Ian (he is in the UK for the Christmas period) I am unable to tell you what was spotted other than a Black Redstart. Im attaching a couple of photos of the Golden Eagle and one of the photos I took of Lanjaron.
