Ive managed to get a few more days over in Mallorca recently and combined some mountain days with birdwatching. One of my favourite mountains is Puig Tomir, it’s a relatively easy short accent to the summit with a little bit of scrambling assisted by some lengths of cable. I have never failed to see Black Vultures, (Aegypius monachus) Buitre Negro, on Puig Tomir and this trip was no exception. After watching the vultures, we chose the longer route back down to the car, which takes us through gorges, grass lands, valleys and forests, which allow for good viewing of different species of wildlife to what is found on the summit. All in all the route we took was a 5 hour round trip.
